Good News: Our building permit will not expire at the end of the month. Bad News: Staining is taking longer than expected and pushing back other work.
While we originally planned for insulation batting and air channels from eaves to a ridge vent, we decided to use spray foam insulation for the ceilings and gable walls. Three Rivers Urethane provided insulation services.
As you can see from the photo, the outside stone, roof, and chimney are finished. We also passed our electrical rough in inspection.
The plus side is the car can park in the shade today. The minus side is that no one else is working here today.
Most of the interior framing has been completed, and now we need to move onto other structural details. The fireplace framing and hearth stone platforms are built. Our fireplace installer suggested that a 2×4 be placed on the platform so that the firebox can sit raised. The stud at the top of the firebox opening will also need to be raised.
